Users must indicate 2 locations to measure the distance.
The Location Path Calculator API allows users to calculate the distance between two geographic locations.
There are different plans to suit all tastes, including a free trial for a small number of requests, but your rate is limited to avoid abuse of the service.
The API uses API keys for authentication. To access the API, include your API key in the request header. The API key is provided upon registration and should be kept secure.
The API usually supports JSON as a response format. JSON is widely used due to its simplicity and compatibility with most programming languages and frameworks.
The Calculate Distances endpoint returns data including the calculated distance between two locations, the unit of measurement (e.g., kilometers), and detailed information about each location, such as place ID, coordinates, and address components.
Key fields in the response include "distance" (numeric value), "unit" (measurement unit), "location1" and "location2" (objects containing details like place ID, latitude, longitude, and address).
The response data is structured in JSON format, with the main object containing distance and unit fields, followed by nested objects for each location that include geographic and administrative details.
The primary parameters for this endpoint are the two locations specified by their geographic coordinates (latitude and longitude) or place identifiers. Users can customize requests by providing different location pairs.
This endpoint provides information on the distance between two locations, the geographical coordinates of each location, and detailed address information, including country and administrative divisions.
Data accuracy is maintained through the use of advanced algorithms and reliable mapping technologies, leveraging data from trusted sources like OpenStreetMap to ensure precise distance calculations.
Typical use cases include travel planning, logistics management, route optimization for delivery services, and any application requiring accurate distance measurements between geographic points.
Users can utilize the returned data to inform route planning, assess travel times, optimize logistics operations, and integrate location-based services into applications by leveraging the distance and location details provided.
